A Path Forward

These Land Reports are written from years of living on Fire Island as a horticulturalist, ecological designer, and land steward traversing its communities and beaches across all seasons, and witnessing the trials of erosion control, shifting shorelines, and environmental interventions, both failed and successful.

They give voice to the island as a continuous system read through sand, vegetation, and seasonal change while offering a path toward a more unified approach: working with the land rather than against it, for a shared and lasting future.
