Ecological Meridians: reading a continuous system from ocean to bay

Year-round Fire Island horticulturalist and ecological designer with over 25 years of experience working within the island’s coastal environment.

My work is grounded in the island’s underlying patterns—what I define as Ecological Meridians: a system developed through long-term observation of sand movement, plant communities, and shifting shorelines.

Each property is not isolated, but positioned within this continuous gradient from ocean to bay.

To design well here requires understanding that position—and working in alignment with it.
